Wind up/Wind down Walk
For a number of years, on the day after the Festival finished, the Fiddlers Green committee and a few of the visiting regulars got together and walked to the top of Slieve Martin, the highest peak overlooking Rostrevor. Along the way a few songs were sung, poems recited and beverages consumed as a way to relax after our hectic week. It has now become an extra festival event extending us into a ninth day. From the Fairy Glen we head up past the café to the River Walk and then on by Cloughmor to Slieve Martin. After some respite at the Cairn, you can head back down via the Zigzags, at your own pace to the village where a small session can be found in one of our many fine hostelries. Although it is a fairly high climb it can be done at a relatively slow pace and for the less fit there is an opportunity to start at the high car park.
